Executing an NPrinting task in the Management Console will lead to multiple qv.exe running in the task manager.
Example:
Run 4 qv.exe on Windows 2012 Server R2 (2 CPU/16 cores)
Run 2 qv.exe on Windows 2008 Server R2 (2 CPU/8 cores)
Run 2 qv.exe on Windows 2012 Server R2 (4 CPU/4 cores)
Environment:
Qlik NPrinting
QlikView
The total number of QV.exe process should be as following.
- Active QV.exe processes are limited to the number of cores of the machine the Engine is running on.
- Total QV.exe processes can be higher than the number of cores if some of the QV.exe instances are in fact closing the document so they're not actively consuming resources.
On 16 cores machines, you can expect to see between 1 and 16 QV.exe processes, depending on system load.
With a high load and a high number of QV documents used, expect more than 16 instances. 16 of those instances will be active, while the others are closing the document. Once the document is fully closed, the .exe is terminated.
