Publisher Alert Email cannot be set in QlikView 12.00

In QlikView 12.00 track, and possibly 11.20 track, when attempting to set the Alert Emails for task failures, and the environment has a QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) cluster that is unbalanced (unbalanced means the QDS nodes have different number of CPU cores on the nodes), setting of the Alert Email addresses may fail. 

Unbalanced QDS clusters are unsupported in versions 11.20 and 12.00, all QDS nodes must have the same number of CPU cores on the servers.

Ensure all QDS nodes have the same number of CPU cores assigned to them and check the following locations to ensure the CPU Affinity values match the number of CPU cores on the servers.
 

Check the value in the Configuration.xml (in QDS app data folder: C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService)

The row of interest is:

Count the number of 1's in the CPUAffinity= and be sure that corresponds to the number of CPU cores on the servers.

Another place to check is the DistributionService.xml in the QlikView Publisher Repository (QVPR), there is a similar CPUAffinity setting there and be sure to confirm the number of 1's there also equals the number of CPU cores on the QDS servers.
