Reload of Operations Monitor or License Monitor fails.

Reload log may show the error message(s):

Connection not found: ArchivedLogsFolder

or

Error: Connection 'monitor_apps_REST_license_access' not found

Or indicating that any other connection required by the Operations Monitor app could not be found.

Environment:

Possible root causes:

  1. The monitor apps depend on this data connection "ArchivedLogFolder". The error can occur if the data connection "ArchivedLogFolder" has been removed or modified in QMC.
  2. Other required Data Connections may have been removed, changed, or due to Qlik Sense upgrades need to be updated.
  3. The user reloading the Monitoring app via Hub does not have access to use the required default connections.

Resolution:

If the data can be reloaded via Qlik Management Console but not Hub, this may be due to improper permission to access the Data Connection by the specific Hub user. See Guidance on how to conclude if the issue is Security Rule Related

For any Data Connection required by the Monitoring apps, fortunately, they are automatically imported with the Monitoring apps and the versions off the app releases with the installed Qlik Sense product are available from the Default Apps folder. To import the apps:

  1. Log in with administrator account(Account must be a ContentAdmin or RootAdmin).
  2. Import the License Monitor application from C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\DefaultApps. (It will prompt to rename the application because License Monitor application already exists. Rename the application to something else)
  3. Publish the imported license Monitor application to the Governance stream and replace the existing License Monitor app.
  4. Reload the application again
  5. Follow the same for Operations Monitor Application.

By default, the Archived Logs Folder is set to: C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\Archived Log

If ArchivedLogsFolder data connection is not there you need to recreate it. The steps above can be followed for this.

If the path ArchivedLogsFolder data connection is present but incorrect, change it back to the default: C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\Archived Logs\ and reload the QMC.

If it is noted that ArchivedLogsFolder data connection is present, but the name is not correct (e.g "archivedLogFolder" with lower case A), change it QMC as: "ArchivedLogFolder" (capital A)
