To allow Anonymous Bookmarks:
- Open the Management Console
- Navigate to System > Setup > QVS@Node
- Open the Documents tab
- Mark the checkbox for "Allow Server Objects" and "Allow Anonymous Server Bookmarks"
Keep in mind that Anonymous Bookmarks cannot be shared!
Anonymous Bookmarks will be stored in the .SHARED file of the document and identified by the MachineID of the session that created them.
The MachineID depends not only on the end users machine details, but also on the client and browser used.
Visibility in the Management Console:
In the Management Console the bookmarks are listed as seen below.
Identification in the .SHARED file:
The .SHARED file will include the machienID in the HEADER information.
An anonymous bookmark created in AJAX, using Google Chrome, can be revisited if the user opens the next session with the same browser and client combination.
If the user opens the same document anonymously from Internet Explorer, the MachineID will be different and the bookmark will not be visible.
The same applies for Internet Explorer and a bookmark created in the Plugin. It will not be visible in AJAX from the same Internet Explorer session.
