FAQ: Can QlikView export to XLSX file format?
Article Number: 000003894 | Last Modified: 2018/06/12
QlikView can export chart objects to Microsoft Excel.
In QV versions older than 12.20, The export is done in XLS file format, which means the file is encoded in Binary Interchange File Format (BIFF). The file format is commonly referred to as Excel 97-2003 format.
QlikView does not support export to the XLSX file format, which is encoded as Microsoft Open XML Excel Spreadsheet, unless QV 12.20.1 or newer is the Qlik environment being used.

There is no current plan to add native capability to export QlikView charts to Microsoft Excel XLSX file format, for versions older than 12.20.1; an upgrade to the latest QV is required.
In QlikView full browser client (AJAX) a possible option may be to export to XLSX file format through an QlikView Extension.
In QlikView native client, the possible solution can be to export the chart via a VBScript macro.
Turn to QlikCommunity or other Internet resources for VBScript options.
