LDAP path was added in the QlikView Management Console > System > Setup > Directly Service Connectors (DSC) > DSC@[servername] > Active Directory > Directory Service, but user lookup and group resolution does not seem to work.

Reviewing the Settings shows a red star.

Environment:

QlikView

If you noticed red *(asterisk) next to the edit icon (pencil), there are a few possible root causes to consider:

  1. LDAP Path might be incorrect
  2. If the User Name and Password are empty, that means the service account's password is expired or the account used for the services does not have access to the Active Directory (local user account)
  3. User Name or Password might be incorrect or unneeded

Hovering over the alert (*) will bring up more information. QlikView Management Service and Directory Service Connectors will also provide additional details to the error.

Note: If the QlikView Services are executed/ run as a domain account, then there is no need to use additional credentials in the username and password boxes for the Directory Service Providers in the Directory Service Connector configuration settings.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure the correct LDAP path is entered
  2. Enter the correct username and password needed to successfully connect to the Directory Service Provider
  3. User Name or Password might be incorrect or unneeded
