Yahoo Mail Server SSL to SMTP Issue in Qlikview Server

Description

Using Yahoo email account (either Personal or Personal Plus) Try to send a test email from QMC, it will fail, fail message such as:

-"failure sending.."

-"the operating timeout"

- "...From address not verified - see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/manage/sendfrom-07.html"

Doesn't help even you change to different ports such as 25, 465 or 587 in QMC, but works fine with port 25 in desktop client

Resolution

The is a known issue with the Microsoft class Net.Mail that we are using to send mails.

Yahoo are using something called Implicit SSL which the class does not support.

There are fairly simple workarounds:

* Skip SSL then it works

* If SSL is required then just get a free gmail account and use this.
