Resolution
Example setup On How to migrate or move you current QlikView Distribution Service to another machine:
QlikView Server installed on machine: QVSX64 QlikView Server service running using Account: DOMAIN\QVSX64SVC
Distribution Service installed on machine: QVDS Distribution Service running using: DOMAIN\QVDSSVC
Installation:
Before start the installation of QDS in QVDS please stop qds in the QVSX64 machine and make sure is in manual mode in the starting settings. Now you can go to QVDS and start the qds installation. - When running the installation program to install QlikView Distribution Service on QVDS Machine, you should uncheck everything, except of course the Distribution Service. Note: If you have a previous QlikView server installation in this machine QVDS, you must uninstall it first, we don’t want to mix QVS services here. Make sure to rename the qliktech folder after you uninstall the previous QVS if you still have it. · Make sure you install x86 version if running 32-bit and x64 if running 64-bit
On the QlikView Server machine QVSX64 · After installation, make sure you can access the Distribution Service (DS) from the QlikView Server (QVSX64) machine using the url: http://QVDS:4720/qtxs.asmx on Internet Explorer browser. · If prompted for credentials, make sure the QVDS address is added to the Local Intranet zone in IE · If you cannot connect, make sure no firewall is blocking communication to the QVDS machine on port 4720 (open port 4720 in Windows firewall on the QVDS machine if running Windows 2008) · If DS is running using a dedicated Domain User Account (DOMAIN\QVDSSVC), add this account to the Local QlikView Administrators group on the QlikView Server machine (QVSX64). · Restart QVS service. · DS may use QlikView Directory Service Connector (DSC), depending on the setup. If you don't want to install the DSC on the QVDS machine, you need to make sure that the DS can contact the DSC on the QlikView Server. Open port 4730 in Windows firewall on the QVSX64 machine if running Windows 2008. · DS will distribute the QlikView documents to the QlikView Server. This requires the port 4747 being open on the QlikView Server (QVSX64) machine for inbound communcation. Open port 4747 in Windows firewall on the QVSX64 machine if running Windows 2008
- Ports required to be opened for inbound communication on QVSX64: · 4747 (QVS) · 4730 (DSC) Accounts added on QVSX64: · Account running DS (DOMAIN\QVDSSVC) added to Local QlikView Administrators group On the Distribution Service machine (QVDS)
· Make sure no firewall is blocking communication to the QVDS machine on port 4720 (open port 4720 in Windows firewall on the QVDS machine if running Windows 2008) · If utilizing DSC on the QlikView Server (QVSX64) machine, make sure you can access the DSC from the Distribution Service (QVDS) machine using the url: http:// QVSX64:4730/qtxs.asmx in Internet Explorer · If prompted for credentials, make sure the QVSX64 address is added to the Local Intranet zone in IE · If QVS is running using a dedicated Domain User Account (DOMAIN\QVSX64SVC), add this account to the Local QlikView Administrators group on the Distribution Service machine (QVDS). - Ports required to be opened for inbound communication on QVDS: · 4720 (DS) - Accounts added on QVDS: · Account running QVS(DOMAIN\QVSX64SVC) added to Local QlikView Administrators group Once done, add or replace the DS address to the QEMC/System/Distribution Services.
