Not able to set Logon Information when installing QlikView Server. The following error is displayed when clicking Next:
Server not found. Verify that the specified server exists. The servername can not be empty.
This can be caused by:
- The Computer Browser service is not enabled
- A firewall is configured without an exception for the Computer Browser Service
- NetBIOS over TCP/IP is not enabled on the machine
- If no master browser server is configured on the network
- If broadcast traffic is disabled on the network
Resolution:
- Choose I want to specify the account to be used for the services later to prevent the possible root causes from affecting the installation.
- Manually add the desired Service Account to the QlikView Administrators group created by the install.
- Input the Username and Password in the Windows Service Console after the installation. (Note: if you put the Service Account and Password in the dialog and then check the I want to specify the account to be used for the services later, the Service Account and Password will be populated for you in the Services Applet.)
- Ensure the Service Account gets the Logon as a Service right in the Local Security Policies. (Note: When you set things in the Services Applet, this should occur automatically.)
