.NET and Windows track the fact that the application was downloaded from an unknown and potentially untrustworthy internet location.
This issue should now have been solved in the Qlik Web Connectors app.config file so this step should not be necessary in most cases - however, if you are experiencing issues with Qlik Web Connectors you should try unblocking the downloaded zip file before extraction.
Right-Click > Properties
You should now be able to continue the setup process: Getting Started with Qlik Web Connectors
Please Note
- That there appears to be an additional windows feature which prevents you from fully unblocking files which reside in your 'Program Files' folder which means you should first move the files to another location, unblock them, and then move them back. We do however recommend running Qlik Web Connectors in the folder c:\QlikWebConnectors or another root drive rather than in 'Program Files'.
- It is possible that if you are not an administrator or if your domain administrator has prevented it, you will not see the above unblock option even though windows considers the file blocked. In this case you should speak to your system administrator who may need to unblock the file for you.
- We have had one instance where on unblocking the zip file the QlikWebConnectorsService.exe file had to be manually unblocked. So you may want to check this file has been unblocked before proceeding.
