NOTE: This page relates to Setting up the Qlik Web Connectors Windows Service
If you do not wish to run Qlik Web Connectors under the Administrator account you can follow these instructions to configure it to run under a Standard User Account.
Create A User Account
You should create a user account in the standard computer management interface, in our example we use the name QlikWebConnector:
In this example we use a local security account but the process is similar if you use a domain account.
Give User Account Full Control Over Qlik Web Connectors Directory
You should give the User Account full read/write access to the directory under which Qlik Web Connectors is running (and also any additional folders necessary, for example if you have configured Qlik Web Connectors to use alternate cache directory, see Qlik Web Connectors - Clearing Cached Data
).You should ensure this has been done prior to starting Qlik Web Connectors.
You should now be able to use this account for the scheduled task you create to ensure Qlik Web Connectors stays up and running.Note also that
if you are using the processParams[Sync|Async|Batch|Auto] parameter in any of your load scripts you will need to ensure that QlikView AND Qlik Web Connectors have access to a folder where QlikView can store intermediate CSV parameter files and QVSource can read them (typically c:\Source\Temp). This is explained fully on Qlik Web Connectors Synchronous, Asynchronous and Batch Requests Explained
Configure The QlikWebConnector Service To Use This Account¶
Open the Services console, right click on the QlikWebConnector service and select properties:
On the 'Log On' tab you should now be able to enter the account you just created:
When you select OK, you will probably see a message that this account has now been granted permission to log on as a service:
You should now be able to restart the QlikWebConnector service.
