QVConnecto logging can be used to troubleshoot ODBC System DSN and other Data connections, as it provides additional logging information otherwise not recorded in the default log settings.

For a more generic troubleshooting guide, see Troubleshooting Data Connections in Qlik Cloud and Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows.

This setting is valid for Qlik Sense and QlikView. Modify the engine settings.ini needs to include the ConnectorLogging = 1 parameter.

Example (with Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows):

  1. Open the file C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Engine\Settings.ini
  2. Add the following under [Settings 7]:

    ConnectorLogging = 1

    A blank line must be present at the bottom of the last parameter.

  3. Create the folder c:\Temp
  4. Restart the Qlik Sense Engine Service.
  5. Reload the app in question to trigger connection.
  6. Logs with naming convention QVConnect*.log are generated and stored under the c:\Temp folder.

To disable the logging, follow the same steps, but remove the parameter entirely.

For additional information on modifying the settings.ini, see:
