It’s always possible that an Application or an Object in an Application is corrupted. We always recommend that you backup different stages of your Application during the developing process.
Should a file be damaged and no backup is available, you can recover it using a prj-folder.
Use the following articles for recreating an Application or an Object:
“What is a corrupt Object?”
A corrupt Object
- can need more calculation time or consume more CPU or RAM
- lost properties you have set
- didn’t work as similar objects in the application or a new object with same settings
“How an Object can get corrupt?”
- During a Resave in different QlikView Version
In different stages of new Major Releases, new properties were added and some old was remove. So it could happen that during a resave in higher Version not all properties replaced correct and the Object get corrupt.
- During a regular Save
Also, it is possible that it comes to an internal issue by saving the object in a QlikView Application self, this mostly causes no other issues in the application.
“What I do with the identified corrupt Object?”
If you are identify an object like this we recommend to create a new object and only copy the Expressions from the old object, the settings must be done again in face of the old one too.
