How to create a map with an image background layer

You can use images as custom base maps in map visualizations.

This can be achieved in two ways:

 

  1. Open the Qlik Sense Management Console
  2. Navigate to Content libraries

  3. Click Create new

  4. Name Library (eg: Images)
  5. Click Apply 
  6. Go to Content (right menu)
  7. Upload the desired image
  8. Return to Content and click the desired image(s).
  9. Copy the URL path

  10. Open the Qlik Sense App
  11. Add a map to your sheet
  12. Go to Map settings and Base map. Select None

  13. Go to Layers and Add layer
  14. Click Add background layer

  15. Copy the URL from your Content Library in the URL text box
