List of IP Addresses behind license.qlikcloud.com and lef.qliktech.com

It may be necessary to add firewall exceptions for the IP addresses used by Qlik licensing services.

Note that we do not recommend using IP addresses for exception lists unless absolutely necessary. Wherever possible configure the exception list for *.qlikcloud.com or *.qliktech.com respectively.

All nodes in a Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows on-premise multi node environment need to have access to these addresses.

Qlik has two licensing backends. The main License Backend hosted by license.qlikcloud.com and our Legacy Activation Service (commonly referred to as LEF) hosted on lef1 through lef4.qliktech.com.

license.qlikcloud.com

The IP addresses behind license.qlikcloud.com are rotated and not fixed. Use the DNS name when configuring firewall exceptions.

If your firewall requires you to use IP addresses, please note that they may change. To verify the IP addresses currently used, open command prompt and type nslookup license.qlikcloud.com.

lef*.qliktech.com

There are 4 LEF servers (lef1.qliktech.com, lef2.qliktech.com, lef3.qliktech.com, lef4.qliktech.com). The IP addresses behind these servers are fixed.

Hello @eyalnir_qlik

I'm afraid I am not certain what you mean. Do you mean the customer can only use IP addresses?

In that case, I would recommend that the customer pings the addresses used or does an nslookup on them and uses the returned IP addresses.

But as the article states, the IP addresses may not be fixed and could change.

All the best,

Sonja

Hi @Sonja_Bauernfeind ,

Thanks for the useful thread.

Are the aforementioned details about license.qlikcloud.com still valid? Since yesterday if I run nslookup command against license.qlikcloud.com I get the same three IP addresses

  • 52.203.38.116
  • 54.162.4.176
  • 34.225.167.144

Many thanks for your time.

Kind regards,

ilias

Hello @ifytra

The IP addresses can change, which is why we recommend not to use them (and do not list them in this article - though I do understand they are shown in the gif). We recommend using the hostnames in your firewall and proxy configurations since we cannot guarantee that they will remain the same.

All the best,
Sonja
