NPrinting overwrites Qlik Sense certificates upon the initial preview of an NPrinting report
NPrinting Connections to Qlik Sense fail
Normal operation of Qlik Sense is affected
Before Preview:After Preview:
Cause:
- NPrinting and Qlik Sense have been installed on the same computer. (although this is not a supported configuration, we understand that for DEMONSTRATION and TESTING purposes that a single server install is occasionally performed).
- When Qlik Sense is installed with 'localhost' rather than the Netios computer name of the Qlik Sense server, a local host certificate is installed on the Qlik Sense server
- NPrinting certificate appears to overwrite the Qlik Sense server certificate because Nprinting has an identical certificate name (Currently being checked by R&D as to the true source of the QS localhost certificate deletion).
How to resolve the issue:
- NOTE: Single server deployments of NPrinting and Qlik Sense are not officially supported. See https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Supported-unsupported-c...
- Where POC's (proof of concepts) are concerned, use the hostname/netbios server name when installing the Qlik Sense software. Do NOT user 'localhost' nor the IP address statically/manually or dynamically assigned to the Qlik Sense server.
- If you have originally used 'localhost' when installing the Qlik Sense server, see the following article in order to create new QS certificates while concurrently updating the Qlik Sense installation using the hostname/netbios server name of the Qlik Sense server computer.
