How to check Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows extensions versions

In this article, we cover how to check the version of bundled extensions as well as third-party extensions. 

 

Environment

Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows any version

 

In order to check the version of an extension you have to:

  1. Go to the extension folder in the ServiceCluster Extensions folder, for example:

    \\dc1\share\qliksense\StaticContent\Extensions\qlik-on-demand-reporting

  2. Open the .qext file in the above folder path

  3. Verify the version (and close the file to ensure it is not locked before taking the next steps):

    ...
        "name": "On-demand reporting",
        "type": "visualization",
        "description": "Reporting on demand extension for Qlik Sense",
        "version": "x.x.x",
    ...​

 

If you are experiencing issues with extensions not loading correctly after a product upgrade:

Prompting an upgrade for Bundled Extensions

  1. Open the Qlik Sense Management Console
  2. Go to Extensions
  3. Select the Extension
  4. Click Delete
  5. Restart the Qlik Sense repository service, it will recreate the extension from the dashboard bundle with the newest version.

Upgrading Third-Party Extensions:

  1. Follow the steps provided by the Third-Party Extension provider
