It is always best practice to regularly backup the Qlik NPrinting Server: How to BackUp and Restore Qlik NPrinting Repositor... - Qlik Community - 1715863. This backup can then be restored to an existing fail-over server that was previously installed.
A nightly backup is recommended for high availability purposes.
If you do not already have a failover server ready to receive the backup, then:

- Reinstall the NPrinting Engine and insert the failover NPrinting server address when installing the NP engine software. (make sure to accurately document the Certificate password as it will be used in point 3 below
- In the Qlik NPrinting WebConsole "Admin>Engine Manager", disable the Qlik NPrinting Engine entry which points to the failed NP server
- Re-add the NP Engine entry and click "Resend Certificate"
If you have firewalls running, please ensure you follow the necessary port exceptions as per Ports.
Note: it may be necessary to have at least two Qlik NPrinting engines in your Qlik NPrinting Server license. Conversely, you can simply delete the NP engine entry when failing over to the failover node. Then recreate it.
