The Qlik NPrinting Service Account can be changed in the Windows Services Console. Note that the service account needs to meet all requirements: Dedicated NPrinting Server & Engine Service Account Configuration

Note: Before proceeding, you will need to upgrade if you are currently operating an unsupported version of NPrinting since older, unsupported versions do not have this simplified process enabled.

To change the Service Account:

Fulfill NPrinting Service Account Requirements:

  1. Read: NPrinting Service Account Requirements
  2. Ensure:
    1. NP service user account is a member of the local Administrators group on the NPrinting Server.
    2. Have Log on as a service rights.

Note: Update the NPrinting services that use a domain service account only. ie: Do not change the NP Messaging,  Repo and License services service accounts.

Change the NP service account

  1. Open the Windows Service Console
  2. Locate the NPrinting Services
  3. Right-click, select Properties
  4. Select the Log On tab
  5. Change the user credentials and password as prompted
  6. Once all services have been changed, restart them.
  7. Log into the NPrinting Web Console>Connections
    • Update/change each NPrinting Connection Identity with the new service account domain\username for each NP connection that used the old NPrinting service account as the NP connection user Identity.

Perform points below if NP Engine does not comes online:

  • Reinstall the engine with the new service account
  • Recreate the engine address entry from the NPrinting engine manager via the NP web console
    • Make sure that you document the certificate password you entered when installing the NP engine software
  • If using Qlik Sense connections, you may need to reinstall the Qlik Sense Certificates
  • Update your trusted site settings: use the following help page and perform the steps while logged on as the new NPrinting server/engine user account
