When sorting Alphanumeric characters, Qlik Sense (and/or QlikView) does not sort by comparing ASCII values (as we would expect) but Qlik Sense (and/or QlikView) adopts what is commonly called "natural sorting". This is not an ASCII "alphabetical sort order" because ASCII Alphabetical sort order should be based on comparison using ASCII values.
In order to achieve an "ASCII alphabetical sort order" some workarounds can be applied e.g. (1) sorting by expression, (2) sort alphabetically from data source and then in the front-end "sort by load order", (3) using Dual function in the script etc...
However, the above workarounds are effective for certain cases but have significant limitations and do not apply to many scenarios. Additionally, in Qlik Sense, the master items are created in the "Asset panel" while the sort order is maintained in "properties" panel. Thus, any change made in master Item will require to change the sort expression in properties" panel == > hard to maintain and code must be duplicated many times.
For simplicity and this particular for master items, is it possible to implement a "sort feature" for master item in the asset panel? In addition to assisting with the issue of alphanumeric (ASCII) sorting, this would also globally prevent the need to manually set the sort order for each field in each object as is the situation in Qlik Sense now.
