QlikView cannot assign named CALs and Users vanish when pressing apply

When assigning a Named Cal to the user, it then appears in the list of assigned users, but after hitting the apply button it gets removed as well as all the users previously listed.

 

Environment:

QlikView 

 

The CAL limit is set to 0.

 

Resolution

 

  1. Open the QlikView Management Console
  2. Open the System tab
  3. Open the Licenses tab
  4. Choose the license
  5. Open Client AccessLicense (CALs)
  6. Locate Limitations 
  7. Verify if Limit number of CALS has been enabled and the Named CAL number has been set to 0

To resolve

  • Uncheck the Limit number of CALs checkbox
  • or (if a limit is desired) set the value of the CALs to allow the required amount

If unchecking the Limit number of CALs does not work immediately, then:

  1. Set the allowed CALs to the max number present in the license 
  2. Press Apply 
  3. Then uncheck the Limit number of CALs checkbox
  4. Press Apply
