Qlik Sense install fails and registers "One or more of your shared persistence file share folder has not been configured correctly, or the service user does not have the appropriate access permissions."

Other possible errors:

Action 14:23:10 34 The service user does not have permission to write to the Root folder, make sure that it exists and has the correct permissions.

CustomAction CA_ValidateSharedFolders returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

Environment:

Cause:

The service/admin domain account configured for running the services may require proper read/write permissions to access the share via UNC path, or the share itself may not be properly configured.

Resolution:

Assuming that the Deploying Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows documentation was followed, likely there is an issue with the account used.

Workaround

  • Try another admin account to install
  • Then update the Qlik Sense Services to used the correct service account.
