In QlikView sheet object search fields, it is not possible to enter longer search strings than 1024 characters.
However, to select multiple values in "Select_In_Field" triggered action, longer search strings (longer than 1024 characters) can be applied as "search string" .
- The search string must have values separated by pipeline character, and be closed by parentheses. In the example below the triggered action will select the values A, B, C, D, E, F, G or H in the field "FieldName".
- When selecting multiple values using the "Select_In_Field" action, user may pass a high number of values using a pipe-delimited list.
Ex: "876456389|986483612|450098325|456998227|336998244|666998223|246998333|456998322"
This list works up to 1000 list items ( 9000 characters ). As, this list is submitted to the QlikView API via Javascript functions, an issue could be that, after 1500 list items ( 13000+ characters), the application behavior became unstable, leading to high resource usage and more, the system may become unresponsive.
Resolution:
No static limit exists and the system itself has no limitation.
A QlikView administrator/developer will need to identify the limit in their environment as this is depending on document complexity and hardware.
