The engine service doesn't automatically start after a server rebootArticle Number: 000051663 | Last Modified: 2018/09/07
After rebooting the server the Qlik Sense Engine Service doesn't start even though it's set as "Automatic (Delayed Start)", and in the Event logs it says "Engine GetQrsSettings: Failed to retrieve QrsSettings, status code=404"
The service starts fine when we manually try to start it a few seconds later.

The workaround is to start engine service with a delay and how long of the delay depends on the capacity of the machine Qlik Sense is running on, but the key is to wait until repository service logs following print in System_Repository logs when initializing:
Creating 2 permanent worker threads for connection handler: Repository API REST Server.
A PowerShell script example to automate this process is as below:
NOTE: The following script will restart your services. If you only wish to start them and avoid an unwanted service interruption, remove the first 3 lines of the script.
Stop-Service QlikSenseRepositoryService -Force Stop-Service QlikSenseServiceDispatcher Restart-Service QlikLoggingService Start-Service QlikSenseServiceDispatcher Start-Service QlikSenseRepositoryService Start-Service QlikSenseProxyService Start-Service QlikSenseSchedulerService Start-Service QlikSensePrintingService Start-Sleep 60 Start-Service QlikSenseEngineService
Another workaround is attached to the article, Workaround 2 file..zip contains a scheduled task which triggers the start of the engine all 5min, in this case it can run automatically in the background.
