When using a custom third party SAML Identity Provider (IdP) such as Shibboleth, a message appears when uploading the Metadata stating "Upload a valid IdP Metadata file."Environment
- NPrinting April 2018
- NPrinting June 2018
The problem is due to a bug ( OP-7522
) that has been resolved in NPrinting 2018 September release.
The problem is fixed in NPrinting September 2018. The best solution is to upgrade to that or to a higher release.
If the upgrade is not immediately possible, follow the steps below for a temporary workaround.
The problem with the Metadata is that the Certificate containing the KeyDescriptor tag is missing the "use" attribute. This attribute tells the Certificate about its purpose. Qlik NPrinting only takes in consideration Metadata Certificates that contain use="signing".
To fix the upload error simply add the missing portion as seen in the screenshot below.
Before - <KeyDescriptor>
After - <KeyDescriptor use="signing">
Also, if this still does not resolve the issue. Please remove all references to the "Role Descriptor" tags.
