NPrinting offers two levels of logging: INFO (default) and DEBUG (needs to be enabled). Details are available in the online help: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2019/Content/NPrinting/Troubleshooting/Troubleshooting-logs.htm
However, the online help does not discuss how to manipulate the number and size of archived logs to keep.
It is possible to manipulate the number and size of archived logs to keep. Here are the instructions:
Logs are automatically renamed to .1, .2, etc. where higher numbers correspond to older log files. The number of files kept depends on the settings included in the following configuration files:
and in particular to these default settings:
<maxSizeRollBackups value="3" />
<maximumFileSize value="10MB" />
Incresing the maxSizeRollBackups value to "10" in Qlik.NPrinting.Engine.config, for example, will keep 11 files (current file + 10 archive files). Changing maximumFileSize value to 20MB will allow the log file size to grow to 20,482 KB (20MB) before triggering the creation of a new log file.
The configurations have separate sections normal (INFO) log files and _dev (DEBUG) log files, and either or both can be customized as required.
Attached is an example of NPrinting Engine log configuration file that keeps 10 archived logs (plus the current one) of 15 MB each, both for normal and _dev log files.
From the February release, the default settings for _dev log files and the normal log files will be aligned to match (<maxSizeRollBackups value="10" />)
