Since shared persistence, Sense writes .lock files in its Apps folder.

These files were not present within the previous synchronized persistence model.

Resolution:

The files are generated and managed by Sense and should not be manually removed or modified to prevent damage to applications or services.
They are used and populated by the engines to push updates into their respective Apps.

This mechanism has been set up in order to prevent access conflict when using several engines.

All updates are pushed into the lock files first, and then integrated into the App.

@Sonja_Bauernfeind all lock files are of size 0 KB. does it indicates no update to the app.

Hello @TusharDev_Qlik

The size of the lock files should not be indicative of data or no data. Are you experiencing issues with your apps not updating?

All the best,
Sonja

@Sonja_Bauernfeind thank you for the quick response.

users were reporting app could not be found issues. We have identified the root cause now(service cluster path not accessible from one of the RIM nodes). During the investigation for the affected app , found out the Lock file size as 0 hence this query.
