This article describes the effect of importing app with map objects
created in version 2.x to version 3.x.
The color expressions defined in the previous version no longer appear in the expression field of the color by expression'
The expression works as expected
on the map object, but the expression field is empty.
The issue is due to a change in how the expressions are stored in Sense 3.Environment:

This is a known bug QLIK-78504. The bug has been fixed in Qlik Sense September 2017.
The workaround is to remove the expression from the expression field and add it back again (cut > paste it).
If you have no access to the expression script in any way, run the app in 2.2.4 (downgrade or install 2.2.4 on another server), and cut and paste the script in the expression field of the app in version 3.This issue can be avoided by doing a step by step upgrade from one major release to another e.g from 2.0.5 to 2.2 to 3.0 to 3.1 to 3.2, and reloading the app with each upgrade
