This article means to assist when Qlik Support requires an export of your Internet Explorer settings to further investigate an issue.

The Internet security settings of Internet Explorer are stored in:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]

Steps for exporting Internet settings:

  1. Open regedit
  2. Right click on [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings] and select export
  3. Export as Registration Files (*.reg)
  4. Rename the resulting file into .txt so that it doesn't end up in our mail filter

Note that the registry has to be exported as *.reg and renamed into .txt. It will not work to export into *.txt directly as regedit then uses a different format.

Notes on importing the resulting text file:

The settings can be imported by renaming the text file back into .reg and double clicking it. Before doing that it is best to first take a backup of the registry using the steps above in order to be able to be able to restore the original settings.
