The Qlik Sense Proxy logs show a repeated message, logging: "Error during stream authentication as server".  Possible root causes are listed in this article.

By itself, the message is not an indicator of an error. It should be investigated alongside other symptoms seen in the environment.

Resolution:

The error message "Error during stream authentication as server" means a connection attempt failed and it was not handled correctly.

This is then captured in the Qlik Sense Log. The message is an indication that Qlik Sense detected communication issue, but will not provide more detail.

The message should be reviewed together with a symptom seen by end users, such as a dropped connection or a reconnect. By itself, the message is not an indication of an error.

  • If the error will persist in Qlik Sense Proxy logs, it is necessary for an IT or network administrator to verify if any external or internal programs are attempting to do a port or health check on the server (such as running a scan).
  • Other root causes could be firewalls or reverse proxies interfering with ports that Qlik Sense needs for communication.
  • If the warning correlates with the same time stamp as a port health check scan which utilizes TCP scanning, a potential resolution would be to have the device performing the health check to use URL for monitoring check check as outlined in the support article Qlik Sense Proxy Health Check Endpoint(s).

Hello Yoichi,

we have this problem after a Qlik update to version June 2020, patch 5.

I hope to ask is this problem caused by Qlik update? Since the server condition did not change during the update and we never met this problem before. So that I do not think it will be firewall or problem caused by other programs.

I can see that the problem is causing internet connection lost and reloads fails when need to connect to internet.

Your solution above is not very clear to me. Can you please help explain more? How can I find the cause of the internet problem? Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Lan Cao
