On occasion some customers have found that the lightning bolt in the NPrinting Monitor remains visible indicating a running schedule even though the schedule has long past completion expectation. In this case the NP service account has an active/valid user CAL so the system is not getting stuck on the NPrinting service account.
However, nothing changes in the NPrinting Monitor tool and the lightning bolt for a specific schedule does not clear.Environment:
The Schedules.xml file can become randomly corrupted. Possibly by an aggressive antivirus program.
Steps to resolve:
Start the NPrinting service again (this will rebuild the schedules.xml file)
If needed, re-add the NSQs back into the watch list before starting the NPrinting service. Before implementing this solution:
- Check that the Interactive Services Detection
- To use Interactive Services Detection, click the 'view message' button to view the behavior of NPrinting in the background NP server service.Check for the following items inside Interactive Services Detection:
- QV desktop is in personal edition: This means that the NP service account has lost it's User CAL and must be re-acquired
- The NP service is not stuck on a Macro running in the QVW. If you find a macro in the background service, click 'allow safe macros'. This will resolve the issue. Thus it would not be necessary to rebuild the schedules.xml file in this instance.
