Since the introduction of Shared Persistence In Qlik Sense 3.1 SR2 it might be important to be able to identify if you are running Shared or Synchronized Persistence.
Below are 3 methods to identify that:
- In the QMC
If you can access the QMC, then on the main menu you might see under Configure System
, the tab called Service Cluster
If you click on it it should tells you if it's Synchronized or Shared Persistence
Note: If this tab doesn't exist then you can assume that you are running a Synchronized Persistence environment.
- In the logs file
If you cannot get to the QMC then you can check if your Qlik Sense Repository Service is staring in Shared or Synchronized Persistence mode.
To do that restart the Qlik Sense Repository Server and go to the log folder (By default C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\Repository\Trace)
Open the System log file with notepad and search for the string ServiceCluster with name ServiceCluster initialized
- The configuration file
If you go to the repository configuration folder stored by default in C:\Program Files\Qlik\Sense\Repository and open the file called Repository.exe.config using notepad, you can then search for the string <add key="SharedPersistence"
If the value is True then you are running Shared Persistence otherwise you are running Synchronized Persistence
Please find details in How to identify an existing environment is shared or synchronized persistence in qlik sense
