Qlik Sense Enterprise
When upgrading Qlik Sense user noticed the app migration failed, manually run the migration failed and apps can't be exported.
The migration log shows: App Migration failed:1003: <no additional data>

This issue is often experienced when migrating from legacy Qlik Sense in Sync persistence mode, which is no longer supported.

Environment:

Cause:

This is a known issue where app binary files may not be present in the Apps directory on all nodes, more commonly on environments where there were issues syncing apps.

Resolution:

Reference: Upgrading a site with synchronized persistence and converting to shared persistence

To resolve this issue copy all of the app binary files manually into the Apps share configured during the Shared Persistence installation or upgrade.

Copy following content to the file share:

Content Copy from To subfolder
Apps %ProgramData%\Qlik\Sense\Apps Apps

Go to QMC > Apps > show column "ID" > retrieve the GUID for the Apps failing to migrate.  Check if the binary is missing in the new Apps share created during the Shared Persistence upgrade or installation.  If the binary is missing from the Apps share, do one of the following:

  1. Copy the binary from the previous Apps directory on Central Node (or only node in Single-node environments) to the new Apps share.
  2. Copy the binary from the Apps directories on the Rim nodes to the new Apps share.
  3. Restore the binary from a previous backup to the new Apps share.

NOTE: If this still does not work, be sure that there is not a separate location that the apps could have been in (in sync persistence upgrade to shared, options existed in the 'qmc->start->engine->edit engine->properties->Apps' ... where a separate legacy App location existed.)
