Qlik Sense Hub Can Not Be Accessed From iOS Device when using per-app VPN while direct access or Windows VPN clients function as expected. When using a Per-App VPN on an IOS device only a white screen or app rain is presented when trying to access a Qlik Sense application. This does not affect users on Android devices.
There were known bugs in Apple iOS 10 and early iOS 11 versions that affected all modern web browsers, and all Airwatch/MobileIron managed web browsers. Qlik Sense requires websockets communication (a HTML 5 standard) between web client and Qlik Sense web server. When the EMM providers pass a policy to Apple iOS devices to securely manage the connection to Qlik Sense servers (which is called per-app VPN), the bug caused a web routing issue that stops Qlik Sense apps from working. The bug was within the rendering class of all modern (fast) web browsers which is called WKWebView. Older browsers (for example Dolphin) still use the yet to be deprecated UIWebView rendering class.
Note 1: https: will work fine but errors will appear when using http: connections
Note 2: iOS 11 has known compatibility issues with Qlik Sense November 2017 releases on MobileIron or AirWatch.| Qlik Sense September 2017 and earlier versions will NOT work if using MobileIron or AirWatch.
Note 3: Windows MAG is not supported for MobileIron or AirWatch. Clients must use Linux servers for iOS support.
On iOS, modern browsers such as Safari and Chrome are compiled using the high-performance WKWebView engine, which did not route websocket traffic through the VPN client correctly.
THE APPLE BUG IS FIXED ON IOS 11.2.5. Must be on latest version of Sense however.

Note: If websockets are not supported within the client's environment, they must upgrade to the latest version of Qlik Sense Enterprise, be on iOS 11.2.5 or later, and have Apple-approved third party certificates installed. Any websocket support or assistance requests are not covered by Qlik Support and the customer must contact their Account Manager in order to elect for Qlik Professional Consulting Services for assistance. Any such open tickets will be closed.
