"Initial selection based on section access
" option is enabled for a qvw document. The initial selections are correctly applied when opening the document in QlikView Desktop. However, upon opening the document in the Access Point, the initial selection is not as configured in the Section Access table.
This behavior is most likely because users did not explicitly close the document using the "Close" button on the Access Point tool bar.
"Initial selection based on section access" is a procedure triggered when opening a QlikView document. Similar to OnOpen triggers (Document properties > Triggers > Document Event Triggers), this option does not always function well in Web view mode. The reason is that it is difficult to say when a document is actually "on open" from the Access Point.
In AJAX client, when going back to the Access Point by hitting "Back" on the browser or close the browser tab, the user session might still retain unless it is closed from all client browsers, or until it reaches the session timeout. With the session still opened, the current user selections remain and will be applied when the document is opened again. This is unlike in QlikView Desktop where it is clear when the document is opened or closed.
Explicitly close the document using the "Close" button on the Access Point tool bar instead of hitting Back on the browser or closing the browser tab.
