When users get error "Page doesn't exist" upon opening Qlik Sense Hub or QMC while Proxy service is already up and running, a potential cause is that the server currently trusts too many certificates. This huge number of certificates may prevent the use of Qlik Sense default certificate to communicate between Repository and Proxy services.
This is a Windows limitation. The limit is not the number of certificates, but the size they represent. Windows limit is 16KB.
Further symptoms indicating this root cause may include:
- No process is listening at 443 (could not telnet 443 from local machine)
- Proxy log complains that Proxy cannot communicate with Repository service
- In Windows event log, there is a warning that the server currently trusts too many certificates, similar to the screenshot below. This can be verified by opening MMC > add Certificates (Local Computer) > expand Trusted Root Certification and see how many certificates are trusted there.
