Error "Page doesn't exist" when opening Qlik Sense Hub or QMC. Proxy service is and running.

A potential cause is that the server currently trusts too many certificates. To many certificates may prevent the use of Qlik Sense default certificate. The certificate is needed for  communicate between Repository and Proxy services.

Further symptoms indicating this root cause may include:

  • No process is listening at 443 (could not telnet 443 from local machine)
  • Proxy log complains that Proxy cannot communicate with Repository service
  • In Windows event log, there is a warning that the server currently trusts too many certificates, similar to the screenshot below. This can be verified by opening MMC > add Certificates (Local Computer) > expand Trusted Root Certification and see how many certificates are trusted there.

This is a Windows limitation. The limit is not the number of certificates, but the size they represent. Windows limit is 16KB.

Resolution:

Consider the following:

  1. Review the certificates trusted by the server and remove those that do not really need to be trusted
  2. Reinstall Qlik Sense on a clean Windows environment
