Nprinting - Export caption of the chart into ReportArticle Number: 000020062 | Last Modified: 2019/02/04
Whether the caption of the chart will be be exported into the Nprinting Report or not depends on "Include Caption and Boarder" setting in QlikView Desktop > Settings > User Preferences > Export.
If the Chart option is enabled in "Include Caption and Boarder", caption of the chart will be exported
If the Chart option is disabled in "Include Caption and Boarder", caption of the chart will not be exported.
The setting will be stored in Settings.ini of QlikView Desktop. Each user profile has it's own Settings.ini of QlikView Desktop.
This means if you run NPrinting Designer and NPrinting Server by using different user accounts, it is necessary to set up Chart option correctly in each QlikView Desktop.
Notice that the change in the setting has to be done for the NPrinting Service user.
To do this:
- Access the QlikView desktop installation folder (where NPrinting service is installed). Usually it is
- SHIFT+Right click on Qv.exe
-Choose "Open as a different user"
- Enter the NPrinting user credential.
- QlikView Desktop opens and you can change the settings
This solution works for any kind of NPrinting reports with the only exception of Qlik Entity reports printed in PDF format: in this specific case it is not possible to print the caption.
- NPrinting 16
- NPrinting 18
Starting from NPrinting 2018 November release, it is not possible to import the caption of a chart as an image. The decision has been taken with the November release, but this possibility was not working also with previous versions.
You can find more information in the NPrinting November release notes:
look for the bug id OP-7953.
A feature request: OP-8377 has been opened to get this option in future releases, but a date for its implementation is not available.
At the moment, the possibility to import a chart with caption works for NPrinting 16 releases.
