Input field has been loaded with various values.
A relative change is applied to the InputSum expression. The expression total of 7 is increased relatively with 100%.
The expectation is that total is doubled from 7 to 14, by adding 100% to each data point.
Instead each data point gets the expected total value, and the total becomes larger than expected.
The relative change %+n is based on value in the expression total cell. The actual value change is applied on the underlying data values. The total value is always based on an aggregation of the underlying data values.
- The expression total is changed relatively, for example with 100% from 7 to 14
- The relative change 14 is applied to all underlying values
- The expression total is aggregated based on the new values in the field
The principle of applying the values change to all underlying values is the same for all distribution modes and for both InputSum() and InputAvg() functions. The use of InputSum() leads to an unexpected visual result as the aggregated total is based on the new values.
