Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows logs will grow larger over time. This can potentially lead to a full local drive and cause severe system issues. It is important for the Qlik Sense administrator to manage the log folder and maintain them on an acceptable level.

For details on how logging functions in Sense overall, see How logging works in Qlik Sense.
For more information on current products, see the official help site and Logging for the relevant version.

Environment:

Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows

The default log location cannot be changed.

The best approach to minimize log folder growth is to continuously backup and remove files that have not be modified for a period of time. To enable environment analysis in case of an issue, it is recommended to keep log files in the logs folders for at least one month after they have been last modified.

Default log folder for Shared Persistence in Qlik Sense Enterprise are:

C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log
\\<SharedFolder>\Archived Logs

Qlik does not provide any tool for automatic backup and removal. Please evaluate using any arbitrary backup and/or automation tool that is supported by your local IT to accomplish the required scenario. File Server Resource Manager is an option for managing aged files through Windows Server functionality.
