The path to the QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) application data folder can be found in the QlikView Management Console (QMC) under System --> Setup --> pick the QDS on the left --> General --> Application Data Folder    (default value: C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService)

It includes log files and result .xml file used by the Distribution Service and Management Service to keep track of task results. This data can be archived. Note that this location does not include task setups! These are stored in the QVPR.

At times, the Distribution Service folder includes too much data, causing a delay in the communication between services.

Note:

If you have relocated the QlikView Distribution Service (QDS) Notification files , you will also need to delete the files contained in that new location  before restarting the Qlikview services

Environments:

QlikView any version

To reset the Distribution Service folder, follow these steps:

  • Stop the QlikView Distribution Service
  • Stop the QlikView Management Service
  • Navigate to the Distribution Service folder and rename it, or otherwise move it to another location
  • Start the QlikView Management Service
  • Start the Distribution Service

This will recreate the folder. As mentioned, the task setup is saved in the QVPR, so the schedule will not be affected.

Hi @Sonja_Bauernfeind,

we get the same problem over and over again. We know and followed this workaround. But what other alternatives are there for this issue? What can be done about this workaround or to identify the root cause?

I would be appreciate if you can assist us for this request.

Regards

Serkan
