Loading a Excel file over HTTP leads to "Bad ZIP file" error message in the document log or in an error dialog.
The symptom is not permanent, the reload is successful some times and fails some times.
The symptom does not occur if the webpage is open in a web browser during reload.
The website where the file is stored requires an ongoing session in order to authorize access to the Excel file. Without a valid session a error message webpage is returned instead, which QlikView interprets as a invalid Excel file.
A session with the website should be established before the Excel file is accessed.
Easiest way to do this is access website through a dummy call, prior to accessing the Excel file.
(txt, utf8, no labels, delimiter is \x3, no quotes);
DROP Table TmpWebsite;
Alternative solutions can be a QlikView custom connector to access the file on the website, or open webpage in browser prior to download and keep it open until reload is finished.
