In QlikView 11.20 alpha numerical values containing D are loaded as exponential values.
For example if the below values are loaded
the result is that all values are interpreted as numerical values
while the expected result is that only notation E is interpreted a exponential values
QlikView 11.20 allows both letters E and D as notation for exponential values.
The value D is introduced as notation to enable compatibility with systems that export exponential data with D as notation.
The issue is permanently addressed in QlikView 11.20 SR5 and forward.
The issue is resolved prior to the SR5 in a SR3 patch (11.20.12036) and a SR4 patch (11.20.12134).
The issue is resolved with the introduction of the script variable "ExponentNumberNotation".
The supported values are defined as;
0 means that E and D is not interpreted as an exponential number
1 means only E is interpreted as an exponential number
2 means that both E and D are interpreted as an exponential number
The default value for "ExponentNumberNotation" is 1.
There is a known limitation with the ExponentNumberNotation=0, please see linked article below for more details.Notation E interpreted as numerical with script variable ExponentNumberNotation=0
