A simple reduction creates ONE document, i.e. all data NOT included in the selection will be removed. A Loop and Reduce creates one separate document for each value in the selected field. All data not included in the selection will be removed, i.e. the document is split up into several smaller documents.
To create a combined Simple Reduce and Loop and Reduce:
1. Create a task with a Simple reduce, in below example on Field Alpha, values A,B.
2. Create Loop and Reduce, in below example on Field Num.
3. After making the Simple Reduce on Field Alpha we only have 2 values left in field Num, i.e. 1,24. Since the Loop and Reduce option will result in several documents it is necessary to create unique resulting document names, to avoid documents to be overwritten. This is done on the Reduce Document Name. In this example %DocumentField,Alpha% _%DocumentField,Num% is used.
5. This task will generate two files, one with reduction on value 1 and the other on value 2:For more information about Simple Reduce see article:https://eu1.salesforce.com/articles/Basic/How-to-setup-a-Task-with-Simple-reduce
