Installing the Extension Examples for use with QlikView Desktop is a matter of double clicking the following file which gets installed together with QlikView Desktop:
C:\Program Files\QlikView\Examples\Extensions\Extension Examples.qar
What double clicking this file does, is to extract the files needed for QlikView Desktop under the following folder:
%Users%\< Username >\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects\
The example extensions are put in sub folders of the above. For example the WebPageViewer is located in
%Users%\< Username >\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView\Extensions\Objects\QlikView\Examples\WebPageViewer
The files that get installed in this location are:
Notice that 'QlikView/Examples/WebPageViewer' is the same as the relative path under which the extension was installed (in bold above).
Once this extension has been installed, it is possible to open a new document in QlikView Desktop, switch to WebView. Then if you open the "New Sheet Object" dialog, the We Page Viewer appears and can be used to insert a Web Page Viewer object.
Once the document has been saved it can be moved to the User Documents folder of the QlikView Server, but before the extension will work, it has to be installed on the server.
This is done by copying the whole folder structure (the relative structure in bold above) which also has to match what is in the script.js.
For the WebPageViewer extension, copy the entire QlikView\Examples\WebPageViewer folder and place it into the following folder:
Note that Objects folder needs to be created under the shared location for object extensions to work
If the extension works in QlikView Desktop but not on the QlikView Server then possible causes are:
