QlikView Web Server service fails to start. Restarting the operating system does not resolve the issue.

The Web Server logs read:

QlikViewWebServer Service cannot be started. System.Net.HttpListenerException (0x80004005): The parameter is incorrect.
at System.Net.HttpListener.AddAllPrefixes()
at System.Net.HttpListener. Start()
at QlikView.AccessPoint.HttpServiceComponent.CreateAndStartHttpListener()
at QlikView.AccessPoint.HttpServiceComponent.Init(String[] args)
at QlikView.AccessPoint.HttpServiceComponent.Start(String[] args)
at QlikView.AccessPoint.AccessPointServer.OnStart(String[] args)
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)

Resolution:

  • Ensure that port 4750 is available and that no firewall or other security software is preventing the Web Server from binding to the port.
  • Re-create the Config.xml file in the %ProgramData%\QlikTech\WebServer directory.
    • Rename or move config.xml which is on directory.
    • Start QlikView Web Server service from Windows service console.

Cause:

Possible root causes include a malformed config.xml or firewalls blocking the required Web Server port (4750) from binding.
