QlikView Services do not connect in the Management Console, Network Error (DNS_unresolved_hostname)

QlikView Services show as offline or disconnected in the QlikView Management Console.

The Services affected are:

QlikView Directory Service Connector (DSC)
and
QlikView WebServer (QVWS)

Testing the connections directly by accessing the service URLs (http://<localservername>:4750/QVWS/Service & http://<localservername>:4730/DSC/Service) leads to error:

Network Error (DNS_unresolved_hostname)
Your requested host "<hostname>" could not be resolved by DNS

Environment:

QlikView 

These services use the system's proxy settings. If a proxy is used, this needs to be disabled. 

Resolution:

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options
3. Click on the Connections tab
4. Click on LAN settings
5. Tick the box Bypass Proxy server for local addresses
