- QlikView Desktop doesn't start but the QV.exe process is started and shown in Windows Task Manager
- or the software appears not to respond to user interaction after opening a dialog box or a modal window, i.e. Edit Script.

The window might be displaced outside of the visible screen area.
- Push ALT + Shift + Space bar + M
- Use the arrow keys to move the window back to the main screen area, could happen with edit script, edit expression,...
If this doesn't resolve the issue try to reset the window position data:
- Close QlikView
- Locate the file settings.ini stored in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\QlikTech\QlikView
- Open the file using a text editor, e.g. Notepad
- Locate the section labelled [WindowPos]
- Remove all the entries in this section and save the file
- Restart QlikView
